It’s Friday. How are you doing? Tired? Ready for a break in the routine? Looking forward to the weekend? Did the snow pile up in your yard and on the road the last few days? Were you one of those who enjoyed sunshine and warm weather?
Wherever you are and whatever you experienced the last few days, let these words be an encouragement to you. They are taken from one of Job’s defenses to his three friends.
25“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. 26And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! 27I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!
Job 19:25-27
Regardless of what Job’s friends told him, he never lost sight of the reality of a future in the presence of his Redeemer.
Tonight my body is tired, my heart is full and I am overwhelmed at the thought that there is a day when my eyes will see God. I will see him with my own eyes; I will know him as he knows me!
